SAIDIA is based in the beautiful city of Mwanza in Northern Tanzania.

The sunset over Lake Victoria casts a glow upon the majestic rocks that gave Mwanza its nickname “Rock City.”

The National language of Tanzania is Swahili. To maximize a volunteer’s effectiveness, each shall be paired with an English speaking Tanzanian volunteer. Owing to our growing network, the variety of options is so extensive that SAIDIA is ideal for people of all ages (over 18 years unless with parent/guardian) and different experiences.

The Experience is tailored to YOU!!!

We strongly believe that in order to help communities, it is not necessary to initiate new projects. For this reason, we work with partner organisations that, like us, operate on a grassroots level so as to be more in touch with the needs of the community. Volunteers will be placed according to the projects that they wish to take part in.

Our partners run a variety of activities such as income-poverty reduction schemes, orphanages, street children programs, home based care, centers for the disabled, health clinics, hospitals, and other community institutions. See  Our Partners.

One of the benefits of working in one of our partnerships is that it would provide more structure. Also, with both organisations striving to reach the same objective, it is certain that more can be achieved in a shorter space of time, and a larger number of people can be reached. Each of our partners were chosen on merit, but they all share similar financial and personnel constraints.

As a volunteer, you would inject the necessary energy and work with us to identify what must be done in each activity.

For maximum volunteer satisfaction, it is important for volunteers to tell us which projects they would like to work in.

Once volunteers have applied and described their skills and their interests, we take time to source the best possible placement for them.  This is an interactive process that involves us at SAIDIA Tanzania Organisation working communicating with our partners and the potential volunteer on a regular basis.

Text Box: Application Process

1. Express interest in Volunteering with SAIDIA Tanzania Organisation

2. Fill out the application form that SAIDIA shall provide you with

3. SAIDIA performs a needs assessment with our partners in the community

This is done to ensure that your placement meets your skills and interests. This in turn ensures that your volunteering experience is both enjoyable as well as effective in the community.

4. Send SAIDIA your programme fee at least 2 Weeks prior to your date of departure

At this point, SAIDIA will provide you with a volunteering itinerary as detailed as possible so as to give you an idea of your activities.
